CHALLENGE

Raich Ende Malter & Co. LLP (REM-Co) is a New York-based public accounting firm that provides a comprehensive roster of accounting, tax, and business advisory services to companies of all sizes. In business since 1972, REM-Co has implemented a variety of marketing initiatives over the years. The firm was an early adopter of web-based marketing, creating a site as worldwide web use was just becoming popular. This website served a good basic purpose, but the platform had become outdated in recent years and Sharon Dickinson, the firm’s marketing manager, knew it was time for a change. “We needed to update the website.”

SOLUTION

To get things started, Sharon hired a company to create a new CMS-based website that would allow for easier management and editing. “It was coming together, but we still needed updated copy to populate the new platform,” says Sharon. REM-Co didn’t need a complete rewrite so much as a refashion, taking the current website copy and descriptions and rephrasing to flow from a reader’s perspective. “Our accountants are incredibly intelligent but as is often the case with experts, they tend to be a little too technical when covering what we do. We needed our service descriptions to relay our technical expertise without being inaccessible to the average website visitor.” Through connections in the Association for Accounting Marketing, Sharon was introduced to bbr marketing. “I had heard good things about their work and after talking with them and seeing sample work, decided they would be a great team to help with our website copy needs.”

RESULT

bbr marketing set to work reworking some existing content, and creating new, for REM-Co’s updated website. From the beginning of the process, Sharon was pleased with bbr’s project management. “We have a lot of pages on our site and a lot to manage, so I appreciated how easy they made the process. It was organized and whenever I had questions they were responsive. I never had to wonder where things were.” The outcome was a cleaner, more concise website that read beautifully and was much more simple to manage. “They took the copy and concepts that were there and turned them into a format that was easier to read and understand. They understood our needs and asked the right questions to ensure we communicated the right message with our copy. The end result is very effective. The internal staff love the new site and are excited to see what may be next. We’ve had a noticeable uptick in website traffic too.”
