Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk receives prestigious Volunteer of the Year award at the AAM conference in Austin, Texas.
MAY 2014 – ATLANTA, GA – The Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), an international organization comprised of the top marketers in the field of accounting, recognized Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk, president of bbr marketing, as their 2014 Volunteer of the Year. AAM recognizes working volunteers as the functional driving force in the association and the Volunteer of the Year award recognizes dedication to AAM, accomplishments within the marketplace and a high level of involvement in the organization.
Bonnie serves as president of the Atlanta chapter of the national AAM organization in addition to supporting the parent organization, serving as a mentor and role model to others in the profession. She is a well-known industry leader who has appeared on Accounting Today’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential People for both 2012 and 2013.
Her firm, bbr marketing, has shown exceptional growth since she began it in 2009 after holding a role as marketing director of an accounting firm as well as a variety of other marketing positions prior to that. The company has grown from a sole proprietorship run out of her home to a nationally recognized full service marketing firm serving professional services firms across the U.S. as well as Canada.
Says Katie Tolin, current AAM president and Director of Practice Growth for SS&G Inc. CPAs and Advisers, “Running a chapter is hard work and Bonnie has single-handedly kept the chapter afloat…securing speakers, creating and distributing invitations, coordinating attendance and sponsors. As chapter president, she also worked to rekindle the chapter’s relationship with her state’s CPA society. She is a tremendous asset to AAM.”
In addition to her volunteer support of the AAM at the local and national level, Bonnie was a featured speaker at this year’s conference. She is delighted to receive the unexpected recognition, saying, “AAM has been a wonderful resource for me during my career in accounting marketing. Through it I have made wonderful friends, found great collaborators and learned so much – and I continue to learn! I’m floored to have been honored by my peers in AAM for something that just comes naturally to me. I truly enjoy helping clients and colleagues alike succeed and can’t say enough how much I love being a part of this organization and knowing the great people who comprise it.”
Recipients of the Association of Accounting Marketing-Marketing Achievement Awards (AAM-MAAs) were announced at the AAM-MAAs Gala that took place during the Association’s 2014 summit in Austin, TX on May 21-23. This year’s summit marks the 25th edition for the organization.
