Leading accounting publication includes Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk and other key people in latest annual list of power players making a big mark on the the profession.
September, 2016 – Atlanta – Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk, owner of highly-regarded Atlanta marketing firm bbr marketing, is among the most influential people in the accounting profession in 2016, according to industry publication AccountingToday.
The well-respected web and print journal has just released the latest edition of its annual Top 100 Most Influential People in accounting list, where Ruszczyk is making her third appearance. She was recognized with the honor in 2012 and 2013 as well as being included in the 2016 list – no small accomplishment, considering the stiff competition.
AccountingToday gives some indication of the magnitude of the challenge, taking a tongue-in-cheek tone as it reports, “Gaining entry to our annual list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting isn’t easy, but it can be done. […]All you have to do is become a nationwide thought leader, or start envisioning and building the structure of the profession for the next five, 10 or 20 years.”
Other types of activities the organization looks for in identifying list candidates include innovating and creating, educating, regulating and cross-pollinating, or as AccountingToday explains the term, “making introductions and connections and bonds that might not have happened without their influence.”
The list is compiled annually of those who work in, promote and affect the accounting world, from policy-makers and standard-setters to consultants, marketers and financial professionals themselves. The common element is that all who appear on the list are widely recognized by their peers, colleagues and clients for their contributions as “the thought leaders and visionaries who are shaping the accounting profession.”
While Ruszczyk has made the list more than once before, she’s just as pleased and excited in 2016 as she was in earlier years. “I couldn’t be more thrilled – or more honored – to be recognized in this way,” she says. “I love being able to contribute to the accounting profession in every way I can. So many of our favorite clients serve the industry, and I love working with them and seeing the profession evolve each year. It’s very rewarding to be included among those who are helping shape it.”
