Courtenay, BC – April, 2017 – Presley & Partners is proud to announce that their very own Kathryn Jones has been named one of Vancouver Island’s Top 20 Under 40. Kathryn, a Chartered Professional Accountant who has been with the firm since 2011, was formally recognized as one of the region’s high-performing young leaders at the Top 20 Under 40 Black Tie Awards Gala on 8 April, 2017. This prestigious list recognizes outstanding young professionals in all fields, showcasing their exceptional achievements and acknowledging the hard work and dedication that was required to accomplish so much at such a young age. Top 20 Under 40 awards go to young leaders whose achievements span work in the Vancouver Island community as well as business activities.
Kathryn is respected and admired by her clients and colleagues at Presley & Partners alike, where she specializes in serving owner-managed businesses. In addition to her work helping clients with taxes, accounting and business insights to facilitate their greater success, Kathryn contributes to the firm’s overall performance and efficiency in a variety of ways. “We couldn’t be more proud of Kathryn and her achievements,” says Colleen Ellison, a partner at Presley & Partners. “She does so much for clients and for the team as well. Kathryn is great at training teams and designing effective systems within our office. Her constant flow of good ideas and cheerful personality make her a joy to have on the team. We’re happy to see her hard work and many talents recognized in this way.”
In the wider community, Kathryn serves as the Treasurer of the North Island College Foundation Board. In addition to her treasurer responsibilities, she is a member of the Foundation’s Finance, Awards and Alumni committees, and Chairs its Governance & Bylaws and Outreach & Awareness committees. She is also a graduate of the college. While attending, she received a scholarship from the Foundation. It was this scholarship that created a deep commitment to giving back through volunteer efforts, so that future students can similarly benefit from opportunities at the college. In addition, Kathryn has organized fundraising events and event teams for several local charities and is a member of the Young Professionals Comox Valley.
Kathryn’s interest in small businesses stems back to her childhood. As the daughter of entrepreneurs, she grew up helping her parents in their family business, an experience she credits with inspiring her awareness of the challenges these businesses face and her devotion to finding ways to help them thrive. “I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn from so many wonderful people,” says Kathryn. “It is with their support and encouragement that I’ve accomplished what I have.”
