Client News: Raquel M. Mazarin, Esq. Joins Engineered Tax Services as a Business Development Director

Engineered Tax Services (ETS) is very proud to announce that Raquel Mazarin has joined the firm’s NJ offices as Director of Business Development. Prior to joining ETS, Raquel was with Deloitte and has approximately fifteen years of combined state and local tax experience with the leading CPA firms, Deloitte, BDO, KPMG and E&Y, along with leadership and client serving roles where she excelled in business development and building and maintaining strong client relationships. Raquel has assisted clients in a diverse range of industries, including financial services, real estate, life sciences, consumer products, chemicals, oil and natural gas.
As a Director of Business Development at ETS, Raquel’s focus will be on engineering based tax advisory services and assisting CPA firms and A/E/C firms with business development strategies around ETS’ scope of services. “I am elated that Raquel has joined ETS. Raquel and I worked together at both Ernst & Young LLP and KPMG LLP for many years and I can attest to her thought leadership, tax technical wherewithal and business development abilities. Raquel will make a strong addition to our already robust roster in our northeastern region and we look forward to her significant contributions,” says Peter J. Scalise, National Partner-in-Charge and Federal Tax Practice Leader.
Raquel has written tax articles for The State and Local Tax Lawyer and The Maryland Bar Journal, The Issue of Taxation. She has also presented on specialty topics for third-party organizations. Raquel is admitted to the Maryland Bar. She received her juris doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. During her last year of law school, she was selected for a prestigious judicial law clerkship at the Maryland Tax Court. In addition, she received her Bachelor of Arts and Humanities in English from Hood College.
